Bullshit. She gained even the Langley district by more votes than ever before. Signed - a poll watcher.

NP here:okay, that's fine that she did well in Langley. However, 2014 she won the election by 16 points. In 2016, it was down to 5points.

As a DC resident and Democrat, I plan to do whatever I can to make sure she is out.

Including coming here illegally to vote? Not the previous poster but I saw a few of them trying just that at the polls.

No, you didn't.

I'm always amazed at people who think they can tell someone's residency status just by looking at them. Who needs passports or green cards when psychic power will do?

Hint: they're racists!

Going to meetings that don't allow for dialogue makes no sense regardless of party.

Talk is cheap, focus on voting her out next time.

Obviously, most voters didn't want a progressive or she would have lost 4 months ago.

Surely no one that's been paying attention is really surprised by how she's acting?

She has a local office pretty close to my house. It's hilariously right in between a halal market and a place that sells packing materials...the sort a person would need if they lost an election and had to pack up their Congressional office downtown.

I know where you live, chick. Pull more of this bullcrap, and we will be showing up on your lawn.

Make sure to scare the crap out of her grandchild! Teach her a real lesson!

Look, if she would answer questions and meet with constituents, which is her damn JOB, then people wouldn't feel the need to go to extremes. This is insanity that she has cut off all access to the public and only shows up for photo ops that she posts on Twitter to make it look like she is "meeting her constituents"

I have called personally called her out on Twitter multiple times. Especially for her bullshit "survey" - there is no excuse in our district for such a poorly written piece of crap to be sent out to the public.

Anonymous wrote:[quote=Anonymous]Funny, I got a call from the House and it was for a telephone town hall this evening. You could just listen in on the line and if you had a question, you hit*3. Actually, it was pretty impressive. She talked about repeal and replace, investigating Trump/Putin/Russia stuff, infrastructure, taxes.

I took part in a Comstock Town Hall meeting on Obamacare via phone. There were 6,000 constituents on the line from all parties and walks of life asking questions about Obamacare and when might it go away and what to expect in the meantime and in the future. There were 6,000 - 12,000 callers in and out for over two hours. A lot of voices were heard. It was a very productive call. I think this is the future for Town Halls.

It's well known that the liberals will try to protest and destroy every town hall held by a Rep. during the next few years all to get photos of a protest and riot. Why play that game when you can reach out by conference phone and get 6000 constituents regularly throughout the week on various topics? That makes a lot more sense than for Barbara or other Congressmen to go to a Townhalls and have to face the ugly liberals, their signs and rioting. That's the liberal attack - to use this Congressional recess - as a means to attack the Republican Congressmen and women who might be home. The OP of this thread is one of those working for the liberals: to get the constituents riled up about crying for Town Halls in this district (since we are going into Congressional recess) because the libs then show up with ugly signs, protests, and they film all of that. Barbara is beating OP at her own game by holding the 6,000+ townhalls by phone. Brilliant!

The telephonic Townhalls work better, too, because you can hear everything your Congresswoman is saying, you can beep in to ask questions. You can clearly hear other peoples' comments. You can ask multiple questions. everyone can hear everyone else. It works much better and reaches far more constituents than the old tired Town Hall meeting.

All well and good, my dear, but you forget the power of tradition and the visual image needed by the media of the authentic Town Hall. There will be HUGE pressure on all sides to do regular Town Hall meetings, instead of invisible phone conferences. So politicians refusing to face their constituents in person will go down in flames.

are you barbara's spokesperson? because you just spewed the exact bullshit they are trying to tell people.

No, these telephone townhalls are NOT better than meeting with your constituents IN PERSON. If you can't take the heat, then you are not a true representative of the people. You are afraid of your own constituents.

And don't even try this nonsense about liberal groups being so mean. Please - do you remember the tea party LARPers just a few short years ago?

Yes. It's an achievable district for Dems.

She is one and done.

Except this isn't her first term.

Why? She's not your representative. Why? Because you are mad that Trump lost. So instead of trying to fix your own party, you and the like-minded are trying to force Republican lawmakers to townhalls where you can throw stuff at them, start a dangerous protest, hope it evolves into a riot and take photos to spread all over the newspapers.
Yes, we are on to you, just as we are on to OP. Why don't you focus on your own party, your own neighborhood, the corruption in D.C. and do something productive for the democrats instead of engaging in the politics of personal destruction against the right?
