The passage about not being showy referred to how you worship, not to your actions. Specifically, Jesus said not to stand on the street corner shouting your prayers so everybody can see you.

In fact, I find the way Jesus stood up to power to be an inspiration to protest.

On that note, you can't possibly argue that the guy who said "love your enemy" and told the tale of the Good Samaritan would approve of Trump's treatment of refugees. Don't get me started on his plans, with folks like Ryan and his OMB nominee Mulvaney, to gut public assistance programs, Social Security, and Medicare, all of which help the poor and the elderly. The hypocrisy is astounding as Trump tries to gut the Johnson reg so that conservative churches can give more to Republicans. Trump is a travesty as far as Christianity goes.[/quote]
