I like that we can go to the Saturday farmers market and run into our neighbors, have the mayor great us by name, go to a free concert on the green, a great high end restaurant (that welcomes and does look sideways at kids), at bunch of neighborhood family restaurants, the Vienna Inn, instanteous police response and traffic enforcement, streets that were plowed multiple times in the snow, combination of sales, income and real estate taxes about the same - net, you don't have to wonder what the h@#$ the central office and the Rheeidiot is doing to your school, Halloween parade, town staff that you can talk to...in person...who can make decisions, Viva Vienna, frozen custard...mmmm, we know and talk to all the neighbors on our block, youth sports leagues and community center programs.  :D

As far as commute time to downtown comparing home values to distance / time from downtown to Vienna, isn't really any worse than high end suburban towns in major metro areas.  For my route it is 45-50 minutes to 14/K leaving at 7:15am same on return at 4:30pm, but your have to hit your time points right on, not earlier or later.  :wink:
