You don't want it to be all-consuming stress, but there's some research that indicates brains that aren't challenged actually lose the ability to develop new neural pathways, have less elasticity, and are less able to learn effectively in higher grades. You always want to ensure your children are being challenged on at least 15 - 25% of their work, regardless of how naturally smart they are. [/quote]
