They built the lagoon 50 years ago, when alligators were all but extinct, You never saw them in Florida. They built the Grand Floridian about 30 years ago -- again, Gators were coming back, bot not nearly like they are now. That lagoon was never really meant for swimming, although people did do watercrafts on it. One look into it tells you that. Bay Lake is the natural lake that once had River Country, where people did swim. And yes, there are gators! Disney can't just kill them -- they are a protected species. [/quote]
