Those Market parents won't quit.
I heard that they were paying for a data firm to analyze this thread to identify the authors of these posts!
Have they no shame?!?!
Seriously? Offer some insight, please. So Maret is partnering up with the Russians now? I really hope for Maret’s sake there is no truth to this claim about hiring data analysts.
This is generally not a particularly hard thing to try and assess, and I"m sure someone at Maret has access to people/firms that can do this, but whether it will be successful will depend in part on how Jeff has the site configured.
Someplace in Bethesda is all I heard.
Can't even keep this money in DC.
My source is very wary of saying too much.
Apparently not every parent/alum is on board with this land grab...

Hardy has soccer games, boys and girls, on Tuesday/Thursday so they those are not practice days for them. They use Deal as their home field for games currently. On Wednesdays they get Jelleff field right after school. So that leaves us with Monday and Friday to work out sharing of field -- how about Maret gets it Monday and Hardy gets it Friday. As for Hardy football, Jelleff isn't a football field and it isn't as tho Hardy is a football powerhouse so they could use Hardy field or Ellington. With a closer look at the Maret varsity soccer schedule for boys/girls, perhaps those days goto boys/girls club for outdoor after school time. And I have to say, post 5:45 at Jelleff it is Stoddert who has the field. Perhaps they could also give up time for the boys and girls club for an hour of outdoor time. It just doesn't seem that hard to work out the issues but it seems from this thread that the only thing that will satisfy the anti-Maret crowd is no time for Maret.
Alternatively, the field is free in the mornings and since dcps doesn't start til 8:45, once or twice a week a team could practice before school, particularly if proper showers are put into the new Jelleff building. I believe some Wilson teams practice before school.

Parading out dozens of witnesses yesterday with the same argument focused on themselves and their reputation rather than the issue at hand did not help their cause. Some of the Maret parents are the brightest, most strategic political minds and they are fumbling this so badly. Why? It’s bizarre.
Give Hardy / BG&C the field two afternoons a week and not only does the issue go away, but they ride out on a white horse. For some reason, they prefer this. I don't get it either.
I learned from yesterday’s hearings that the big gift to Hardy of an hour or two late afternoon on Wednesdays started *a year ago*! Not until contract renewal was in sight did it occur to them that they could share the time they don’t actually use the field! Apparently the think ceding a bit of unused time on Wednesdays is generous enough.

You'd like to think that all the government levers in place to deal with a situation like this would have been pulled by about now. I sense that most just want this to go away. It's up to people who believe this contract was bogus to keep up making noise.
It's pretty clear that the decision on Jelleff came from the very top - aka The Mayor's office. This is why Delano was so evasive - he had "internal conversations" with his boss (Muriel) before coming to a decision.
Bowser has a lot of campaign contributors at Maret. In addition, a lot of wealthy African-American families go to Maret as it's one of the more diverse and supposedly "progressive" independent schools in the DC area. This is Bowser's social circle calling in a favor at the expense of poor black kids who would utilize Jelleff through the BGC or Hardy athletics.
This is all about the African-American elites of DC putting their foot down on the necks of poorer African-Americans who are in DC Public/Charter Schools. That's the subtext of the entire fight but no one is willing to discuss. This has been a recurring battle in DC for generations.
This is exactly it. Excellent summary.

My husband does stuff like this. He said that it doesn't matter how the site is configured. as long as you can see it, they can figure out all of a particular person's posts across the entire forum.
Sound's like intimidation. I can't believe they'd sink so low!
Subject to some assumptions (e.g., that posters don't vary their syntax etc. across posts), it'd certainly be feasible for any textual analyst worth their salt to come up with a rough estimate of how many distinct individuals have posted on this thread. Doing anything more than that would be very very difficult.
Can Jeff stop something like this? Seems like a violation of privacy to me.
I'd guess they could figure out any people pretending to be multiple people.
They'll see that numbers are on our side.
Other then that, what?!?
Embarrassing people who post in other forums?
Sounds like a recipe for disaster for them. So smart, and so dumb.
Probably very expensive too. But after they spent so much money on that hearing, I wouldn't put it past them.

Sounds like Maret could use his help.
