So here's what I'm thinking:

If they truly found her an hour or two after Burke had hit her it would look very suspicious to try to explain away. What could they have said? "We just found our daughter and she's been killed she's not breathing or moving...I think our son accidently killed her." everyone would think it was them vs. let's hide all of the evidence and give it our best shot to protect our son. Middle of the night and they likely were not sure what happened, I still think they chose not to ask questions. That way they truly would not know what happened to her and could pass the lie detector tests.[/quote]

It's possible too that the Ramsey's made this really irrational decision to do an elaborate cover-up and stage a heinous crime because they were in panic mode and not thinking clearly. We're all sitting here trying to rationalize events that aren't rational. Once they started down the path of cover-up, they couldn't turn back. I'm sure they had thought back years later and second guessed their decision not to call for help right away.[/quote]
