Ben looks like John Corbett in that close-up photo above.
He's so interesting in that to me he can look so different one day from the next, it's interesting. He can bloat so quickly, one day he's tan one day he's pale, one day he's groomed, one day he's slovenly, moreso than most people. Maybe it reflects how erratic he can be internally, or how unstable, I'm not sure. For all of j lo's issues, she's consistent. Much more controlled. And self possessed. I'm sure his instability makes her crazy and I'm sure she noticed all the shifts. It must have been challenging for her.
It's not like she was some virgin who'd never lived with him and didn't know all of this about him.
She probably didn’t think a man 50+ was still binge drinking, going to Dunkin Donuts hung over, and getting kicked out of casinos like he was at age 29. Neither of them have learned or changed a bit since 2003 . The addiction to attention/fame /self image /romantic grand gestures is still there for her . The addictions to gambling , alcohol, paparazzi , and commitment phobia is still there for Ben. Ben always checks out and gets depressed on year 2 of a relationship and goes back to drinking. He did so with Paltrow, Garner, Ana de Armas.
He needs to devote himself to a sober lifestyle, which is more challenging for a Hollywood actor, but I don't see how he has a choice. And therapy to address whatever baggage he's got wouldn't hurt. He probably doesn't want to move from the kids for long stretches, but he's rich enough to get out of town regularly and I think Jennifer G. would understand and work with him.
Let's throw some shade her way, what is this her fourth or fifth marriage? When you have that many divorces in your life you become the common denominator in the failure of those relationships. Seriously, she looks like a fool. Time for her to grow up and focus on her two children. Take a few years an just be their mom, that's healing time for Jennifer and quality family time for the children. After that maybe she can steer herself in a different directions. I feel like she is just too rigid in the way she approaches life and her choices, that is a tough thing to live with as a spouse/partner.
