The two year old children at NCRC most definitely sometimes require assistance in the bathroom. Heck, I’ve had four year olds who never seemed to have washed their own hands before! Are men teachers at NCRC allowed to provide bathroom help, or not?
This is about NCRC. Anyone?
Not an NCRC parent but have had a male pre-K teacher. Our school had half doors on the bathrooms so no student was ever “alone” with any staff member, regardless of their sex. I can’t imagine male teachers can just refuse to toilet a child, especially if no other teachers are free. When a 2-4 year old needs to go to the bathroom there’s not much time to wait, and it could be considered negligent to refuse and tell the kid no. More likely appropriate precautions are in place- no doors or half doors, two staff members can see the bathroom at all times, etc. I’d imagine it even would be considered discrimination to say all female teachers need to handle all toileting needs, whereas male teachers cannot help at all. More realistically schools should have appropriate precautions in place so that no teacher is alone and unable to be seen with a child at any time.
