Since when republicans in congress care about federal workers?
That's another huge difference between the parties - Democrats respect, value and support federal workers, Republicans demonize, attack and vilify federal workers.
agreed and that is why I always vote Red.
i worked as government contractor at GSA and Pentagon. you could fire 50% of the employess and the offices would NOT skip a beat. and everyone claimed they were so so busy, and yet they left at 3:30 every day. and still found time to work out/ play bball every day.
I never said federal workers were lazy or out of touch. I said residents of the DC area are out of touch (never said lazy). But yes, they are the political idiots of our country, all the while thinking they are the politically astute. They thrive on ideology, while the rest of the country are the ones that are more politically in touch, because the feel the results of legislation made in DC. Exactly! This is about financial responsibility and trying to get a leash on this run away dog. It sucks that it had to happen, but the democrats do not want any restraints on how much of our money they want to use. Unfortunately, you can't tell the people around DC anything. They believe they are politically smarter than anyone else, when the opposite is true. They are used to living off the proceeds from the rest of the country. DC area residents are the equivalent of welfare recipients who don't understand where their money comes from or that they are being taken care of by other hard working Americans.
Exactly not. Literally everything you and the PP you are responding to said is demonstrably false. The idea that federal workers are lazy, out of touch, and in a DC bubble is a myth. Over 80% of federal employees work outside DC, many in high-risk, mission-critical roles, from wildfire response to cybersecurity. Federal productivity and performance data from OPM and other oversight agencies and watchdogs in fact show consistent output under tight budgets and political scrutiny. Most federal workers earn less than their private-sector counterparts for similar roles, and many face furloughs, hiring freezes, and outdated tech while still delivering essential services. Criticism based on GOP myths and cherry picked, out-of-date anecdotes ignores the scale, diversity, and complexity of federal work, from veterans’ care to disaster relief. Lazy isn’t the word. Resilient is.
