Since when republicans in congress care about federal workers?
That's another huge difference between the parties - Democrats respect, value and support federal workers, Republicans demonize, attack and vilify federal workers.
agreed and that is why I always vote Red.
i worked as government contractor at GSA and Pentagon. you could fire 50% of the employess and the offices would NOT skip a beat. and everyone claimed they were so so busy, and yet they left at 3:30 every day. and still found time to work out/ play bball every day.
Exactly! This is about financial responsibility and trying to get a leash on this run away dog. It sucks that it had to happen, but the democrats do not want any restraints on how much of our money they want to use. Unfortunately, you can't tell the people around DC anything. They believe they are politically smarter than anyone else, when the opposite is true. They are used to living off the proceeds from the rest of the country. DC area residents are the equivalent of welfare recipients who don't understand where their money comes from or that they are being taken care of by other hard working Americans.
Is that why we are giving billions to Argentina and building a Qatari airbase during the shutdown?
