Your typical northern Virginia suburban kid in Vienna is similar to the rest in the area. It's just that for some years now a number (but not all) of the more serious, more competitive players in Vienna area have gravitated towards other clubs like McLean, Bethesda South, and others. VYS not having really strong travel soccer teams has nothing to do with "Vienna is a baseball town". If more of the stronger players in Vienna played for VYS then VYS would have stronger teams. High school teams in the area are regularly in the mix for state championships.[/quote]
