I know parents who may or may not clear the "high SES" bar, including single parents, who rent two-bedroom places in the Oyster, Murch, Ross, Powell, Watkins or Maury Districts in order to use those fine elementary schools. Watkins hovers on the brink of Title 1 status, yet its white kids scored highest on the PARCC in the city this year, for both English and math. No, I'm not a Watkins booster; I'm just really impressed. [/quote]
