This may be news to you, but the police are public servants of the CITIZENS, not of the CRIMINALS (petty or otherwise).

The police stopped being public servants of the teenager when she:
- trespassed property
- was part of a mob attacking a resident
- didn't comply with police requests[/quote]

See..here is the issue.  NONE of the three factors that you listed appear to be true.  We do not know if the girl had a legit pool guest pass and the incident did NOT take place inside the pool facility.  Second, nowhere has it been alleged that this young lady was involved in the fight that the resident started. Finally, she DID comply with police request.  She was walking away as he instructed.  She mouthed off and he jumped her. Add to that the other police officers on the scene had to intervene tells you this guy was out of control. [/quote]
