So what has to happen, PPs, for you to agree that there is a problem of police brutality perpetrated against people of color in this country? It sounds like what you guys are in search of is the "perfect victim." I don't know how you expect that to happen, because the police are not going to show up unless someone in the immediate area is perceived to be breaking the law. Expect more of your public servants. The idea that a teenager being kicked out of a party has a larger responsibility to behave appropriately and with respect than does a sworn officer of the law is offensive. You PPs' attempts to absolve the officer of guilt in this situation are offensive.
I'm not absolving this officer of guilt. Clearly he needs a different career. I'm also not absolving the teens of guilt for trespassing or alleviating their parents of their responsibility to raise respectful citizens. I see 50+ kids crashing a party they weren't invited to. I see no parents making an effort to know what their children were doing. I know what my kids post on the internet because i make it a point to. If nothing else, for their own safety. And when they say "I'm going here" I pick up the phone and verify that they are in fact going where they say they are.
If your child tells you, "I'm going to an end-of-year party at a swimming pool" do you call the pool and ask if the party is happening there? Many of the children standing around outside were waiting for their rides to arrive after being ejected from the party. Have you seen the video of the white woman starting a fight? She slaps that girl in the head multiple times before her friend pulls her off. You are making a LOT of jumps with your assumption that everyone in the situation was trespassing and that their parents did not "make an effort to know what their children were doing." Your assumption that the teenagers in this video are dangerous are not based on facts. I've watched about 5 videos of this incident from various angles. The only people I see being aggressive are white adults. Who are being restrained by other white adults.
