Sports don't matter.[/quote] If sports don't matter, don't sign up for them. Most coaches are nothing like Maddux. They're volunteering hours of their time each week. To take the attitude that the coach's emails are low priority is inconsiderate. There are positive aspects of team sports: supporting teammates, responsibility, overcoming adversity. I've been a youth sports coach and remember having to forfeit because players didn't show up for a game (and never let anyone know). The other team was there. Referees were there. All I could do was apologize because I couldn't explain it.[/quote]
