Overall, the phenomenon is remarkable when you think of school spirit and commitment, academics, high school social relationships, family connections, etc. One thing I have noticed with my kid, is that there is much more of a broader lacrosse community feel between schools than in decades past. Something about social media connections, playing on clubs together, and showcases, that seems to dull the rivalries, and make it feel like a big group of friends. Not a sociologist, but there is something going on there. When I tell my friends in their 40s and 50s about transfers to and from Gonzaga or Landon from rivals, they are in disbelief, and talk about people being ostracized permanently if they pulled that in the old days.[/quote]
