Yeah, the key is whether your parent lives alone or not.  In this case though it sounds like some checking in would have been beneficial, though who knows if it would have changed the outcome.  It's always our instinct to try to say how we would avoid the bad thing, just to feel better about our chances of not having bad things happen.[/quote]
