They had plenty of opportunity within Gaza to build a strong society.  The foreign aid they received was diverted instead to making preparations to invade Israel and to then resist the inevitable response.  Aid from Iran was purely military in character.  If their schools taught peace instead of instilling a commitment to eradicate Israel, a core policy foundation of Hamas, they might now be in a different position.  [/quote]
