In fairness, while MCPS has challenges, in this particular instance we are just dealing with issues in other parts of the state. These kids happen to end up in a shelter within the Whitman boundary so are eligible to attend the school. I don't think MCPS can or should say that kids residing in bounds can't go to the school (until they do something like this obviously). But I also don't think the kids themselves are well served by a school that can't really serve their learning needs or behavioral needs.[/quote]
