The root cause is that you have people who feel entitled to wealth amor cultural capital they don't pisses and trump is their avatar of how they want operate in the eorld

People project things into Trump. He's a liar a criminal and a con man and his followers project all of these virtues qualities into him that don't exist. I've seen the crudely done photoshoots where they depict Trump as Rambo or Jesus or Rambo Jesus (and funny  picture of Trump in the cross is not considered a mockery of God unlike the Olympics ceremony)

The other root We have people who are so entrenched in Republican ideology they'd vote for a cockroach if it had an R on its name.

It doesn't matter that Trump  has subverted just about every value they hold dear, he their guy. We literally saw that in this thread with the PP performing Olympic medal mental gymnastics to defend his they weren't homophobic while supporting a very homophobic and bigoted president
