Here's Tim Walz on that. Watch and learn.

Democrats manufacture grievances from wedge issues and they create the perception of slights out of thin air.

It really would be a persecution complex, except they know they are making grievances up, such as "climate justice". That's just the latest grievance.

They then use those grievances against political adversaries to extract monetary compensation for their core constituencies. They've been doing that for 50 years.

Wow. The projection here is rich. Well done.

One, how did it take you this long to have such a basic epiphany

Two, I don't hate his supporters. He is vile, but his supporters have very real concerns.

Agree 100% with OP. Trump is just one wackjob. It’s his followers that are totally uneducated and falling for his lies. He foesnt care about them and is using them - and they are falling right into his orange hands. Also, Trump is appearing more senile than Biden ever has. So there’s that too.

Anonymous wrote:I’ll preface this by stating the obvious truth: I hate trump, yes, of course. Who doesn’t? But at the end of the day, trump is just an irrelevance. A loudmouth buffoon who will soon be humiliated at the polls again, and then spend what may be the rest of his life in a New York state prison as a 34 count convicted felon facing possibly 14 decades at sentencing, if he doesn’t flee the country first - which I suspect he will. Either way, he’s soon to be gone and won’t be our problem anymore.

But the 50-odd million people who will probably still vote for him this November aren’t going anywhere. And those are the people I really, truly, viscerally despise. Because they gave trump his power. Without these imbeciles, trump would be nothing. He’d literally have the same influence as a crazy screaming homeless man shouting at no one in a city park. That’s what trump would be without the millions of supporters who give him his power. These are the the people I hate. Not trump. trump is just a symptom. His supporters, his sycophants - they are real problem. The disease.

It really made me sad when I came to this realization today, because until now, I assumed that things were going to be awesome after the election and we’d never have to suffer his buffoonery again. But then I realized his supporters aren’t going anywhere. They’re still going to be around regardless of whatever happens to him. And that infuriated me.

I just don’t know how to get past this. I’m just consumed with anger at the realization that probably should’ve occurred to me earlier, but didn’t. I was so consumed with hating trump that I wasn’t able to see who I truly should’ve been hating even more. And now realizing that these people will still be around after he goes away, it just ruins everything.

Very upset tonight. Can barely contain my rage.

His supporters hate America and all that it stands for. They’re also super weird.

Um, it’s progressives who hate America. Everyone knows that. And all the purple-haired weirdos are democrats; not republicans.

Nice try though.

+1
Republicans aren’t out burning American flags and shouting “Death to America!” That would be Democrats.

Never seen a Democrat do that.

I did see lots and lots of Trump voters trying to overthrow the properly elected government and circumvent democracy on Jan. 6. Many of them are in prison now. Some of them truly should have been summarily executed for treason.

This is all the evidence we need that all Trump supporters hate America and all that it stands for. It’s not even a debate.

1. PLEASE don’t count your chickens before they hatch.🐣

2. I think what OP may be worried about, and frankly so am I, is that Trump may drop dead tomorrow, but his followers will simply be waiting for the next charismatic authoritarian to fall in line behind. It’s a legitimate worry.

When people are demoralized and marginalized they will fall for personalities like Trump. Maybe stop going out of your way to demonize these people.

A lot of the Trump supporters I know are neither demoralized nor marginalized. They just don’t care about democracy. They think Trump was great for the economy and hate LGBT people and don’t care about anything else.

In other words, morons.

DP. This has long been a talking point of the left, but I have yet to see any evidence of such. Please provide a citation that “Republicans / Trump hate LGBT people.” Because I’m a Republican and certainly don’t hate the LGBT community, nor do I know anyone who does. Plenty of us have beloved friends and family members who are gay/trans. So where, exactly, is your proof that Trump hates this community?

It’s not a talking point- like seriously wtf, I’m talking about people I actually know and go to church with.

Across the board being anti-LGBT is their #1 issue. They don’t want to see LGBT people on tv, don’t want gay marriage to be legal, don’t want sex education in public schools to include LGBT topics or normalize LGBT. And they all love Trump.

Doesn’t sound like anyone I know - not even remotely. The only objections people I know have is not wanting gender instruction (of any gender) in elementary school. Sex Ed - sure. But of course, that’s something Democrats want to roll gender discussion into.

So at what grade level after elementary school should we be teaching kids how to use "her" and "him" and so on?

It wasn't Democrats who manufactured crap like imaginary CRT supposedly taught in elementary school, or "litter boxes for students who identify as cat gender" - it wasn't Democrats who manufactured a fake grievance about an Algerian boxer who was born female and has female on her birth certificate and has spent her entire life as a female as supposedly being "tr@ns." Republicans are manufacturing one grievance after another.

Maybe they are just… bad people?

Why doesn’t anyone consider this is possible?

This country has always had lots of bad people. Look how much Jim Crow laws were accepted and how hard people fought against desegregation.

Some percentage of the electorate is just lousy and have to be dragged into civilization by the rest of us kicking and screaming.

So instead of addressing the root causes you just want to dismiss almost half the voting population as “bad”. You sound lazy and unintelligent.

The root cause is that you have people who feel entitled to wealth amor cultural capital they don't pisses and trump is their avatar of how they want operate in the eorld

People project things into Trump. He's a liar a criminal and a con man and his followers project all of these virtues qualities into him that don't exist. I've seen the crudely done photoshoots where they depict Trump as Rambo or Jesus or Rambo Jesus (and funny picture of Trump in the cross is not considered a mockery of God unlike the Olympics ceremony)

The other root We have people who are so entrenched in Republican ideology they'd vote for a cockroach if it had an R on its name.

It doesn't matter that Trump has subverted just about every value they hold dear, he their guy. We literally saw that in this thread with the PP performing Olympic medal mental gymnastics to defend his they weren't homophobic while supporting a very homophobic and bigoted president

Please write clearly. I don't know WTF you're trying to get across.

Why doesn’t Kamala Harris do these kind of unscripted conversations?

They could also be called stupid but I don’t really see that as different from bad. I’m a casual observer not a politician or a pundit. If you find that triggering look within yourself.

It is because you fail to recognize your humanity that you dismiss others as bad or stupid. You should apply that advice to yourself. The PP isn’t the one calling half the population bad or stupid.

There’s a time to recognize someone’s humanity and a time to decide that they are stupid and not worth your time. If someone rams their car into mine because they missed a stop sign, they’ve just done something stupid and really inconvenienced me.

The people who are trying to torpedo our country into an autocracy are being stupid and are going to really damage life for everyone I care about. I don’t have OP’s murderous rage but I always tell my kids: stupid people are the most dangerous people.

Ahhh yes the “root cause”—the MAGA root cause is hatred of anything that isn’t a straight white “Christian” man.
