I love Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift both so much. And I was in London last week where they were both performing. I think this is a big nothing burger. It’s clear Dave respects Taylor as many anecdotes on this thread have shown. And it’s hilarious that his lead guitarist Pat Smear was at her Wembly show and hamming up for the camera and loving it. I think given the vibe in London it would be crazy for dave not to acknowledge the Eras tour. When I first found out FF were going to be in London I was confused about where they might be playing because Wembley is Wembley. But there is another stadium that seats 80k folks which is about right for a foo fighters concert. If you were on the tube on the night of one of Taylor shows it was all about Taylor. There were specific people and specific announcements advising people how to get to her show, what train to take and what not to take. It wasn’t like that for foo fighters but then again I’m not sure where they were playing and maybe it wasn’t accessible by tube anyway. There were big signs welcoming Taylor to the UK and I didn’t see that for the Foo Fighters. The only reason I knew they were playing in London is because I’m a fan and follow a bunch of Foo Fighters sites on insta. I think there was another huge tour in town and Dave was acknowledging that. His joke surprised me a little, and maybe was a little distasteful, but I don’t think it was really a big diss. Let’s face it, they are too very different shows from very talented people with huge fan bases and ridiculous success. I think he was acknowledging that there are errors in any show and playing on words. I didn’t necessarily think it was a huge dig on Taylor. I think she was right to defend her band and all the performers who are working their asses off live. But I don’t see them having any big beef.
