Regarding the Manhattan comment, can you name the “wealthiest” part of Dallas? Manhattan is one of the 5 boroughs of NYC. It’s a section/part of a city and the wealthiest part of the city. Highland Park is the wealthiest part of Dallas and about 3.5 hrs from Austin. Similar to the distance between NYC and DC. They would probably roll their eyes at you if didn’t know Highland Park.[/quote]

Where are the biggest financial, advertising, and news centers in the country?

I love UT and it’s a great school but knowing where Manhattan is basic cultural literacy for an American.  That said, it’s entirely possible that the student they mentioned was ESL or had never traveled and I don’t think it’s a bone worth picking. It’s not the kind of thing one learns in school- no matter where they’re educated. [/quote]
