Most colleges won't take calls from high school college counselors. Why would they when they are receiving 40K - 60K applications? They can't handle that many calls. Our college counselor(s) talks to adcoms from all manner of schools, including ivies. NE public non-magnet. And yes I am 100% certain of this. In fact, my understanding is it is essential during the waitlist period for your college counselor to speak and lobby for admissions. Do colleges visit your HS in the fall? If so, then you can be certain the counselors have a relationship with the schools who visit. No reason they can't call them.[/quote]
