This PP illustrates the information that the OP needs.  The politics here are so one-sided that people continue to one-up each other, not even realizing how extreme they are.  Yes, to most normal people, this is very progressive.  People who are repulsed by the politics start to move and the Overton Window shifts even further to the left.[/quote]

I think a lot of moderate Dems (and I am one) support or pretend to support leftist insanity because we believe that to be good Democrats we must "be kind" at all cost, even an the expense of reason, sanity, and the truth.  Take MCPS allowing males to play girls' sports if they simply say they are girls.  I can't find anyone who supports this in private yet almost on one will speak out against this in public.
