There might be, but your example does not make that point. Steve Austin purported to express "normal, rational points held by most" in his campaign, but that's not actually what he was doing, the voters saw through his claims and rejected him, and his subsequent actions make it perfectly plain that the stuff he said in his campaign about holding "normal, rational" opinions was objectively incorrect.

On the other hand, yes, he does like to claim to be a victim; that was also clear in his campaign.

Take MCPS allowing males to play girls' sports if they simply say they are girls. I can't find anyone who supports this in private yet almost on one will speak out against this in public.
