Idiocy.  Soldiers get at least a dozen different vaccinations in basic training, as well as additional vaccinations on deployment depending on the region, or as per routine schedule.  That's been the case for generations.  Ask your older relatives who served in Vietnam as an example.

The anthrax vaccine was very similar to the covid vaccine in that it didn't have FDA approval, it was believed to have serious potential side effects, etc. The courts ruled service members cannot be required to receive them.

At the time the military was being required to get the vaccine, it didn't have approval.

Besides that, the military is young, healthy, and low weight.  There was really no reason to make them get the vaccine.  I'm a vet and I had to take unapproved vaccines, and I don't want to be part of making current servicemembers take unapproved vaccines. [/quote]
