Who will go? Surely not enough adults to make it a success.
Yes, a lot of people are excited about this movie. It's a weird concept with fantastic marketing, and indie movie royalty writing and directing. If it gets bad reviews, then sure no one will see it - it'll be another Babylon. If it gets good reviews, it'll be huge - and might even get Oscars.
It’s going to flop - mark my words.
We'll see. I suppose my kids (girls, 16 and 12) and I (51 YO mom) are the target demographic, but we are ready to see this on the big screen.
My husband and I - both 50 - are excited to see it, too.
I’m sorry but that’s lame.
Are you not familiar with Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach? I'm going to assume so. If you were, you'd understand.
I have never heard of Greta Gerwig or Noah Baumbach.
Really? Greta has directed 2 Academy Award Nominees for Best Picture in the last 6 years. She herself has been nominated for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay & Best Adapted Screenplay. She’s also been nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes for an entirely separate picture. If you’re remotely a movie watcher (and if not, why are you commenting in this thread?), it’s really on you if you’ve never heard of her.
I haven’t heard of any of their films except Marriage Story. I liked that but it wasn’t a comedy.
The Squid & The Whale, Frances Ha? Lady Bird, Little Women? These are all great films. I would be significantly less interested in seeing this if Greta Gerwig was not involved.
I believe I saw Lady Bird. Haven’t heard of Frances Ha or the Squid and the Whale. I’m sorry but this just isn’t impressive to me.
