I can’t believe how quickly people are to condemn the teacher. My son has anxiety and his perceptions aren’t always accurate because of his anxiety. OP wrote in the subject line “cry board” when in actuality as she writes in the post it is closet tears space. If you google cry board nothing comes up so it could be a closet cry. it is a safe space some schools are creating during finals because kids are so stressed out. It is a safe place to go cry for 10 minutes. It could be the teacher is keeping track how many kids are using it to see if she keeps using this next year. Or it could be something else the teacher is doing that is trying to be helpful. If it was so egregious why didn’t OP include that in the email. If there is video why isn’t OP describing what is on it. So maybe the teacher is just an awful human being or maybe there is another explanation. OP needs to find out more before going and accusing the teacher.
+1000 OP is very unclear and refuses to clarify exactly what she means by "cry board." She or her child could be confusing terminology here, but who knows? Does OP even know? I can't offer any judgement or advice until I know exactly what is going on here, and vague talk about a "cry board" (whatever that means) in the context of an upset child with a failing grade really tells me nothing. Is the teacher abusive? Maybe, but I can't say until I know what OP means by "cry board." At this point, it is just as likely that the teacher has a designated quiet area for emotional kids who need some space to calm down. OP refuses to say. Come on, OP. Please just tell us exactly what "cry board" is.
