[/quote] NP here. We did that exact thing with our older child, and will do it again with our younger. The math 7H class is akin to prealgebra, and it's important to me (as a practicing engineer) that they fully grasp the foundation of math rather than rushing through just because you can. Both of my kids are STEM inclined, and will likely take many math classes in college. My child is a sophomore, and is not at all upset that he didn't move ahead. Lots of his peer group that did Algebra I in 7th grade have struggled at time in their math classes, whereas my child was able to easily keep pace with the classes. [/quote]
