I admit that my research was really light because I saw them exercising in the parks and claiming that they were a victim of the Chinese government. I didn't search "Falun Dafa", I searched "Shen Yun" and I mostly watched videos instead of reading articles. Based on official advertisement, I expected a show based on thousands of years of traditional Chinese culture, not a modern (right-wing type) religious propaganda. [/quote]

Duckduckgo offers me "shen yun cult" as my third search autocomplete but maybe that's because I've interacted with this thread.  :-P  Anyway, agreed it's a very odd organization.[/quote]
