Why do you think think the KC is “hiding” anything? I found the description to be accurate. You sound like a right wing conservative complaining that some media outlet isn’t covering some story they think is important.
They are hiding the religious aspects of the performance:

Basically, OP feels deceived and wronged. There is nothing anybody can say to take away OP’s outrage. For OP’s mental health, I would suggest that OP reach out to the KC- explain to it how dishonest it is not to have a disclaimer as to fundamental religious views, racism, harassment and abuse, and any and all other themes that can be triggering or cause offense in any of their shows.

NP. All religions are cults. Cult becomes legit religion when they establish themself in a society. Like Catholics, Mormons. When one cult calls another a cult, it's based on their own biases, is all.

I didn't say they were lying about being a victim of the Chinese government. I was explaining the circumstances in which I became aware of their existence. The word "claim" does not imply believing or not believing a statement.

You should be able to read a description of the performance and watch the video on the KC website to understand the content of the performance. Period.

Duckduckgo offers me "shen yun cult" as my third search autocomplete but maybe that's because I've interacted with this thread.
