I understand the sentiment, but just because a school doesn't fit your cultural comfort zone doesn't mean that it isn't a good school ,or that it isn't a good option for another family in DC.

The OP said that none of DCs schools seem to compare to Arlington.  I think it depends on who is doing the comparing.
