Heard 13 out of the 22 girls on CLC Blue were Pride NoVa. Orange should be interesting since they took a girl from Pride Loudoun who doesn't event start for them.
Congrats to all the players who made the team. It’s not surprising to see so many from Pride. From reading this board the general consensus seems to be Pride does the best job of developing players for the HS level. These numbers seem to validate this thought. What is confusing is, what is KMs strategy for her HS program. Why would so many players jump. And why wouldn’t Pride make a better effort to ensure players and families stay. CLC depends on Pride, not the other way around. Pride seems to be in the drivers seat and would seem to be in an advantageous spot to field the best HS teams. But KM is missing on them. This may go back to the 2023 class. Have to feel for the Pride 2023s. Those players and parents made the commitment to stay together and build something new. Only one left for CLC. Many of these players would have made Capital B that year. This was a very talented team that seems to have been let down by Pride on the recruiting front. The failure of Pride to capitalize on this commitment and talent now seems to be following them today. If Pride can figure out the recruiting side of this equation maybe things will change. Or maybe KM is fine with how things shake out every year.
I can tell you she is not fine with losing her players after she has developed them for years. But, until she figures out the recruiting game she will continue to bleed players. You will always lose some players who desire a new scene or coach, but losing 50% of your Red roster two years in a row is telling. The new recruiting director is showing promise so maybe the 24 team will do better than 23.
