Why don't people learn that cime could kill you . Instead of protesto teach your kids that if you run from the cops you could die so don't run idiots
Why does that sound like a nice world to live in to you? Sounds kind of shitty to me, so instead I'll vote for leaders who will work against that. No one should die just because they are running from the police. Have fun in your fascist hellhole, Greg.
No one should run from the police! Mess up? Deal with the consequences like an adult. We live in a society of rules and laws. This isn’t Thunderdome
Ok, let's assume I agree that no one should run from the police (there's the faulty assumption that the police are 100% correct and honest, which is faulty). So then what should be the consequences if someone chooses to run? An additional misdemeanor charge if caught? Summary execution? Something in between?
Sometimes pedestrians are summarily executed by people running from police or just already engaged in illegal behavior and driving irresponsibly. This has happened to folks in DC hit by stolen vehicles. This could have happened to anyone on foot hit by this kids scooter. This is primarily why police dont give chase.
So your solution is to allow people to openly break the law? If someone runs a light or does something illegal, I support the police 100% in going after that person. I would prefer to live in a safe environment instead of a state of anarchy.
No. I think vehicular crimes are out of control in the district. Stolen vehicles careening and joyriding have hurt/killed pedestrians even without the police giving chase. I think the police should intercede when reasonably warranted. In this case, it sounds like they were pretty mellow and blinking their lights. This situation is very sad but I do believe they were trying to srop him to protect him (no helmet) and since he was riding on the sidewalk also to protect others.
