Buy the ring that fits you and your lifestyle best - not based on size/affordability. All of the people I know who ended up with giant rings only wear them for special occasions. Bigger rings look flashy when perfectly shined, but quickly look dingy after a few chores and day-to-day life. They snag on everything. Big rings have also been known to be a subconscious signaler to bosses that you don't 'need' that raise or bonus that much. [/quote]
