that's not how it works.  First of all, they are not stupid enough to come get you in your house.  They will come get you at your place of work.  (or let me guess... you are too mentally ill to hold a job).  And then, if you are quiet enough, they don't do anything.  But if you get arrested for another crime, and then they find the gun, they increase the sentence and take away the gun.  Or if you start making death threats, and they know you have a gun, they use the gun and not the threats to arrest you.  Its a bit like jay walking laws.   They are enforced as a tool.  But no, nobody is going to start searching homes for these guns.
