There was a woman in my babycenter.com birth month group (don't judge) that decided to have an unassisted childbirth. She bragged about it the whole 9 months - all the stuff she read, how confident she was, etc. She went into labor and posted about it - her dumbass boyfriend had a friend over and he and the friend were playing video games. I don't know how long she labored before she figured out she wasn't progressing. She eventually went to the hospital. Her baby didn't make it - had been deprived of oxygen. I think of her every once in awhile. She seemed not to really grasp the enormity of what had happened or was having trouble really comprehending it.
