She’s still offering her services on her website.
How in the hell is she still offering services??
Nebraska doesn’t like all those pesky government regulations getting in the way of small businesses?

Why aren’t hospitalized OB’s held accountable for every baby’s and mother’s death?
They should be.
They are. They get sued, they are regulated by the medical board and their state?

I guarantee the number far exceeds the number mentioned in this article. Home births are always safer. Fact. Of course there are a few outliers for whom a hospital birth is necessary, but they're truly outliers. Most home births are safe and most are much safer than being in a germy money making hospital with dozens of hands in the pot, none knowing what the other is doing. Women, especially black women, die in hospitals every day. The United States has the WORST infant mortality rate of ANY developed nation, and we also have the highest rate of hospital births.
Also, it says she wasn't licensed IN THAT STATE, not that she had no training and wasn't licensed at all anywhere.
All. Of. This.
Finally, a voice of reason on this topic right here on DCUM 👏

Yes. There was a woman in my babycenter.com birth month group (don't judge) that decided to have an unassisted childbirth. She bragged about it the whole 9 months - all the stuff she read, how confident she was, etc. She went into labor and posted about it - her dumbass boyfriend had a friend over and he and the friend were playing video games.
I don't know how long she labored before she figured out she wasn't progressing. She eventually went to the hospital. Her baby didn't make it - had been deprived of oxygen. I think of her every once in awhile. She seemed not to really grasp the enormity of what had happened or was having trouble really comprehending it. I felt sorry for her but also angry at the waste.

The stillbirth may have been caused by her decision to labor at home but it may have happened if she had started laboring at the hospital. There's no way to know and no real reason to judge her. She went to the hospital, didn't have an unassisted birth at home. No different than if she had left for the hospital at the start of labor and gotten delayed in a traffic jam.

women who stupidly buy the propaganda that "doctors and hospital are teh evil and will give you the cascade of interventions!"
this baby could have lived 100% if the mom got a c-section. the guilt here is all on the mother.
