not my family

Dad came in '47 with a trade, and he learned English in a year AND joined the military.  He started three businesses, too, and built a nice lifestyle for the family.

[b]In 1947, the US determined who was granted entry in the US. [/b] That is not the case today.  Estimates are there are upward of 16 million illegal aliens in the US.  Some estimates are as high as 22 million.  Of course, with our laws the way they are.... we aren't even able to come up with a reasonable, accurate estimate.  [/quote]
In 1947 my Asian family would not have been allowed to immigrate here due to quotas from "undesirable" countries.  Lots of Trump supporters seem to want to go back to the quota system.[/quote]
