I think PP is just being polite. What you don't understand is why certain people are trying to logic that slavery and segregation before, has resulted in "violence, hip hop, rap, crime rates, children out of wedlock, sports stars, impoliteness" in current day America. Many people do not understand this. It is quite the chip on one's shoulder.

I'm Jewish. Back in college I recall being part of some late night philosophical conversation between a few Blacks, Israelis and American Jews. We were all making the case for how slighted we were in the world but needed to make the best of it now. I have to disagree. Before LBJ's Great Society, Black Americans where enjoying increasing employment, business ownership, home ownership, decreasing crime, decreasing out of wedlock children, etc. They were beginning to enjoy the fruits their preceding generations labored for. The Great Society is what destroyed the Black Family, communities, ownership etc. After the great society and the loss of MLK, race hustlers and demagogues came to the for.e.. they gained control of cites like Baltimore, Detroit and so many others. Whole communities have been destroyed. 'Racist America' didn't do it, I'm not even sure 'Racist America' exists. [/quote]

You do realize there is a difference between racist americans and a racist America dont you??  Yes there are racists of all colors in our country but over all i think they are a rare phenomenon. But to say we a racist country... nonsense! [/quote]
