The unpopular tyrant of chaos gets even less unpopular. https://news.gallup.com/poll/692879/independents-drive-trump-approval-second-term-low.aspx Independents Drive Trump's Approval to 37% Second-Term Low WASHINGTON, D.C. — Six months into his second term, President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has dipped to 37%, the lowest of this term and just slightly higher than his all-time worst rating of 34% at the end of his first term. Trump’s rating has fallen 10 percentage points among U.S. adults since he began his second term in January, including a 17-point decline among independents, to 29%, matching his lowest rating with that group in either of his terms. For their part, Republicans’ ratings have remained generally steady near 90% and Democrats have been consistently in the low single digits.
That's hilarious. Who on earth are they polling? lol
Oh, I misunderstood - those are the approval ratings for Trump by Rs and Ds. Rs approve of Trump and his handling of issues and Ds disapprove - and Independents disapprove. Arguably, Independents are the most important block, since numerically they are the greatest number. To some extent, Independents will lean R or D and vote consistently that way. Whether Independents are truly independent or are primarily disaffected Rs or Ds - these are bad numbers for the GOP.
Yes, I read it that way first too. 90% of Republicans approve of Trump. Democrat approval of Trump is in the single digits, and independents have cratered to a 26% approval of Trump which as you noted as the swing in the swing states that are needed.
Bingo. The same true swing voters who voted against Trump in 2020 and against Biden in 2024, will be voting against Trump through 2028. They simply crave the real leader we've been lacking since 2017.
