So, this is the first time I’ve seen the name of Vance’s own fund: Narya.  I guess it’s just a coincidence that the name is an anagram for Aryan?

Likely a coincidence.  Thiel likes using names from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.  He has frequently used names from there for his companies and businesses.  Narya is one of the three Elven rings in LOTR (the ring of fire worn by Gandalf).
