The boyfriend has lawyer'd up and refuses to cooperate with police. If I had to guess, the police are likely focusing on retracing the GPS history of their phones. People like this always have their phones on them.
I don't understand why guilty people do this and think it will work and they will get away with it.
Because sometimes it DOES work. Innocent until proven guilty, and all that.
Refusing to cooperate with police is not something an innocent person does.
Every rich kid with a trust fund is taught to never talk to the police. It’s just self-preservation to go through your lawyer…
??? Poor kids in the projects often know this, too. It's a constitutional right to have counsel. If Brian Laundrie had info as to Gabby's possible whereabouts and was innocent, one would think he would have provided the police with that information, as he could have had counsel present while doing so. After seeing people give false confessions in interrogations, it's hard to recommend that someone talk to the police without counsel present, especially someone young / naive / impressionable, etc.
