I’m no defender of josh but he was underage (12 yrs old the first time) when he first did what he did to his sisters. He was a child and I think his parents and church community clearly failed him when he asked for help. Now this is no surprise. I find that sad.[/quote]

This made me pause, because you’re right. There are accounts of josh admitting/ confessing what he had done to the adult in charge more than once- it sounded like he told Bobye what he had done without any prompting, and it sounds like he freely admitted the thing with his sisters to his parents. He was crying out for help. And didn’t get it. And now he is this monster , when he probably didn’t want to be. [/quote]

Imo it doesn’t matter if sister snitched. He was still a child who was failed by the adults in his life. It was an adult’s responsibility to get him help. You say who knows what would have happened if jill hadn’t spoken up but she did and pretty much the worst thing did happen.[/quote]

They did help him. According to their faith values. They sent him to Christian rehabilitation camp.
