The judge granted the motion to allow testimony of prior SA acts by Josh Duggar.

This motion along with the judge denying the motion that Bobye Holt's testimony should not be allowed because of clergy privilege are two big early wins for the Prosecution.

I'm pretty sure the sisters snitched on him first, and then he confessed. Who knows what would have happened if the sister (presumably Jill) never spoke up about it.

Imo it doesn’t matter if sister snitched. He was still a child who was failed by the adults in his life. It was an adult’s responsibility to get him help. You say who knows what would have happened if jill hadn’t spoken up but she did and pretty much the worst thing did happen.

Faith-based rehab is worthless.

This wasn’t even faith-based rehab. It was a ministry that promoted homeschooling and counseled young people not to question fundamentalist principles. Dress modestly. Obey your parents. Love the Lord. Be fruitful and multiply. The ministry was never equipped to rehabilitate sex offenders or help victims of sexual abuse. Some of the people running the ministry were molesting and raping girls and women who were sent to their centers.

Yes AND Bill Gothard, former leader of IBLP, stepped down after multiple accusations that he sexually harassed and assaulted employees. Dozens of women came forward. Gothard stepped down in 2014, so he was in charge when Josh went there for rehabilitation.

Once he turned 18 and was an adult and in charge of himself legally, nothing prohibited him from getting whatever help he felt he needed. No sympathy beyond the day he turned 18.

The Duggars are considered "fundie royalty." Marrying into the clan is a badge of honor.

I struggle with people saying that the sisters "snitched." It makes it sound like that was a bad thing for them to do.

I won't be surprised if we find out that at some point JB was abusing the son and turned him into a pedo.

It may also be why JB has always protected him - so that Josh doesn’t out him as his own abuser. Either way Josh should be put in general population. There’s a special place in hell for those who harm children.

I’d also be sorely tempted if I were Child Protection to remove his kids from Anna’s care if it turns out he abused any of them and she aided and abetted by doing nothing.
