It’s a massive money grab that unfortunately has become a de facto filter for D1 recruiting. The fact that it even exists for U14 highlights this feature.

Sadly true. My DC went to Nexus Championship too (so I'm not sour grapes). But, Nexus is SOOOOOO political and it is a screener for D1 (along with the foolish Max Field Hockey invitational). So by virtue of that if you can't or don't want to do NEXUS, you're screwed for D1 if that's your goal (unless you have another coach connection).

Plus, NEXUS simply passes on the same players every year whether they deserve to be there or not. [/quote]
