Anyone claiming that HB was NOT the subject of a Republican witch hunt are full of crap.
True. Lying on a background check and being late with taxes are typically both fairly minor issues for which people are rarely sent to prison. On the surface, it looks like DOJ overkill. However, look a little deeper and you see a very corrupt family. In all likelihood, China and other actors have been using Hunter to enrich the Biden family. By issuing such an expansive and all inclusive pardon, Joe Biden sought to shut down further inquiry into the sources of the Biden family wealthy - after all, Joe Biden has very famously been nothing more than a train commuting public servant for 50 years. And yet he and has family are enormously wealthy. No doubt the incoming Trump administration will be keen to shine the spotlight on Biden corruption and malfeasance. The expansive pardon was issued to try to derail further investigation into the sources of Biden family wealth.
You're beating a dead horse with "in all likelihood" crap that was already investigated to death. To remind you, the House Republicans already spent millions of taxpayer dollars investigating the whole laptop issue, the "10 for the big guy" claims, the supposed Biden bribes and China and Ukraine deals filling Joe's coffers - and found NOTHING. All they got was that Hunter had a drug problem and lied on his 4473 and was sloppy with his taxes. That's it. Yet you STILL have these lingering delusions of supposed corruption "if you only look deeper" - except, they already DID look deeper. If that corruption ACTUALLY existed, the millions already spent by the House Republicans on investigating the Bidens would have uncovered it. At this point you're like Geraldo Riviera thinking Al Capone's ill-gotten riches are still hidden away behind a vault door. There's nothing there.
David Weiss (AUSA Delaware) has been investigating Hunter Biden since 2018. He was then upgraded to "Special Prosecutor" by Garland in 2021. So Weiss basically investigated HB's entire life - China, Ukraine, drugs, prostitutes, etc. - for over FIVE years. And all they could get him on was non-payment of taxes and lying on the 4473. There's no Big Guy. There's no "treason." There's no "sellling access"....which isn't even a crime. And that was separate from the House's investigation.
