Depending on the age group, Barca has some top teams with not enough talent and in an ideal world some of the kids should be on B teams, but the talent pool is too shallow. In other age groups, they have talent quality overflow, where both A and B team have quality players. The danger for Barca is that the quality players in the second category will leave for other clubs after a season in the ODSL. A club cannot assume that they will retain all players from their A team, because players leave for various reasons or stagnate in their development so having a deep talent pool is beneficial.
